Triaxial IEPE Accelerometers are advanced vibration sensors designed to measure acceleration simultaneously along three orthogonal axes (X, Y, and Z). By capturing vibration data in all directions from a single mounting point, these sensors provide a complete and accurate representation of dynamic behavior, making them essential for modern vibration testing, structural analysis, and condition monitoring applications.

Unlike single-axis accelerometers, triaxial IEPE accelerometers eliminate the need for multiple sensors and repeated test setups. Operating Principle

Triaxial IEPE accelerometers are based on the piezoelectric effect and incorporate Integrated Electronics Piezoelectric (IEPE) signal conditioning within the sensor. Each axis contains its own piezoelectric sensing element, producing an electrical charge proportional to acceleration in that direction. The integrated electronics convert this charge into a low-impedance voltage signal that can be transmitted reliably over standard coaxial cables.

IEPE technology allows both power and signal to be carried on the same cable using a constant current supply, simplifying wiring and reducing susceptibility to noise. This makes triaxial IEPE accelerometers especially well suited for multi-channel and large-scale measurement systems.

Key Characteristics

Triaxial IEPE accelerometers offer excellent sensitivity, wide frequency response, and strong axis-to-axis matching. Their compact and rigid construction minimizes cross-axis sensitivity and ensures accurate directional measurements. Because all three axes are measured from the same physical location, phase alignment and correlation between directions are inherently consistent.

These sensors are designed for stable performance under continuous vibration, temperature variation, and mechanical stress, making them suitable for both laboratory testing and long-term industrial monitoring.
