Maglev Train Running Comfort Test with SE-944 & RE-846U
Maglev Train Running Comfort Test
Project Name: Maglev Train Running Comfort Test
Client: Rail Transit Institute, Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology
Route Tested: Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road, Shanghai
The world’s fastest commercial train ride isn’t just about speed—it’s also about passenger comfort. To ensure the smooth operation of the Shanghai Maglev Train, which runs at speeds up to 430 km/h, the Rail Transit Institute of Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology conducted a comprehensive comfort analysis test.
To support this initiative, Dynatronic provided two key systems: the SE-944 Strain Testing System and the RE-846U Data Acquisition Unit. These systems were used to gather real-time data on critical parameters that directly impact ride comfort:
Vibration levels experienced by passengers during transit
Body inclination (tilt) of the train as it moves and turns
Traction dynamics, including acceleration and deceleration patterns
The goal was to create a detailed comfort profile based on objective measurements across different segments of the maglev route between Pudong Airport and Longyang Road. This data supports engineers and transit planners in identifying opportunities to improve train control systems, suspension response, and track alignment—all crucial for providing a smooth, quiet, and stable journey.
Dynatronic’s SE-944 and RE-846U systems offer:
Multi-channel, high-speed data acquisition
High sensitivity to dynamic changes
Real-time signal processing for accurate interpretation
Compatibility with a wide range of sensors and test environments
This project clearly reflects our strong commitment to advancing transportation comfort by utilizing cutting-edge, high-performance measurement tools. As maglev systems continue to expand and evolve on a global scale, reliable and precise testing solutions such as these will remain essential, playing a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the development of the next generation of smart, efficient, and high-speed transit systems.
