Brief introduction:The Shitan 220kV Substation in Jiangxi Province plays a vital role in the region’s power transmission network, ensuring a reliable and stable flow of electricity to thousands of end users. Given the increasing demand for uninterrupted energy supply, the substation required a smarter and more efficient way to evaluate transformer health and prevent unexpected failures.
To address this need, Dynatronic implemented its advanced substation online monitoring system, which provides continuous, real-time tracking of critical performance parameters. Unlike traditional inspection methods, which rely heavily on periodic manual checks, this system integrates intelligent sensors and high-precision data acquisition technology to deliver around-the-clock insights into equipment status.
At Shitan Substation, the system focuses on three key aspects:
Vibration Monitoring – The vibration of three-phase transformer shells is constantly measured. Abnormal vibration patterns often indicate mechanical faults, loose components, or emerging structural issues that require immediate attention.
Voltage Monitoring – By continuously recording voltage levels, the system ensures that the transformer operates within safe limits, preventing damage from overvoltage or unstable supply.
Current Monitoring – Current data provides additional insight into load conditions and helps detect irregularities such as overloads or short circuits.
By correlating vibration, voltage, and current data, the system is able to comprehensively judge the operational status of the transformer. This integrated approach gives operators an accurate and holistic understanding of transformer health, allowing for predictive maintenance rather than reactive repairs.
