Brief introduction:  Bridges are critical components of urban transportation networks, serving as essential links that facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and connectivity within cities. Their safety and reliability must be thoroughly validated to ensure the protection of public use and to prevent any potential hazards. In July 2016, a comprehensive load test was conducted on the Wuyi Flyover in Anshan City with the objective of assessing its design accuracy, construction quality, and long-term service capacity under real-world conditions.

For this project, Dynatronic’s advanced testing systems were deployed, including the DE-944 data acquisition system and the WZ-88S measurement system. Together, these tools enabled engineers to capture precise data across multiple physical parameters of the flyover.

The test process involved both bridge inspections and static load tests. During the static load evaluation, engineers measured critical parameters such as:

  • Strain – to determine how the materials responded to applied loads

  • Displacement – to monitor vertical and lateral movements of the bridge deck

  • Counterforce – to assess the distribution of load across supports

  • Inclination – to detect any angular deviations that might indicate structural weaknesses

By carefully analyzing this data, the engineering team was able to accurately judge the actual load-carrying capacity of the bridge. The obtained results were then systematically compared with the initial theoretical design calculations, providing a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of the bridge’s overall structural performance and integrity.

The findings confirmed that the Wuyi Flyover met its design requirements for safety and reliability. Additionally, the analysis offered valuable insights and recommendations for future maintenance, reinforcement, and upgrades, ensuring that the bridge can continue to serve the city’s transportation needs effectively.
