Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Line Track Experiment

Dynatronic Guangzhou-zhuhai intercity line track experiment

Project name: Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Line Track Experiment

Brief introduction:As part of ongoing efforts to ensure safety, reliability, and passenger comfort on one of southern China’s busiest intercity rail corridors, the R&D Department of China Railway Communication Group conducted a critical evaluation of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Line.

The objective of this experiment was to assess the orbital performance of the railway track, with a particular focus on rail deformation and displacement under operational loads.

For this purpose, the team selected Dynatronic’s DE-944 Data Acquisition System, known for its high-precision performance in capturing dynamic structural data. The system was configured to monitor key parameters at selected test sections along the route.

The experiment targeted two primary goals:

Measuring rail deformation and displacement during real-time train operation, across varying speeds and load conditions.

Verifying conformity of the track’s actual performance against design and installation specifications — ensuring that tolerances for rail displacement and stability remained within acceptable limits.

Throughout the experiment, DE-944 provided synchronized multi-channel data with excellent resolution and accuracy, giving the engineering team clear visibility into:

  • Longitudinal and lateral rail displacement

  • Dynamic deformation under rolling stock load

  • Potential track settlement or irregularities over time

This high-quality dataset not only confirmed that the track meets design expectations, but also served as a valuable reference for future maintenance planning, performance optimization, and potential system upgrades.

Projects like this demonstrate how Dynatronic’s data acquisition solutions empower railway operators to make informed, data-driven decisions — ensuring that modern intercity rail systems continue to deliver safe, smooth, and efficient transport experiences for the public.
