Brief introduction:In the automotive industry, the structural performance of the vehicle body plays a decisive role in ensuring safety, comfort, and durability. One of the most effective methods to evaluate and enhance vehicle body design is through modal experiments, which analyze the vibration and dynamic characteristics of the body under different conditions.
For this project, Jianghuai Automobile conducted a white body modal experiment on its Ruifeng commercial vehicle line. The “white body” refers to the complete vehicle structure before painting and assembly of interior components, allowing engineers to isolate and measure the intrinsic dynamic properties of the structure.
The objective of the experiment was to establish a database of dynamic characteristics for the Ruifeng commercial vehicle. By performing modal tests on the white body, engineers could identify the vehicle’s natural frequencies, vibration modes, and damping properties. These results formed a benchmark against which subsequent models could be compared.
Through this comparison, Jianghuai Automobile was able to evaluate how design modifications influenced dynamic performance over time. This process ensured that improvements in one area, such as weight reduction or material substitution, did not compromise overall structural stiffness and vibration control.
The database created from the Ruifeng modal experiment provided multiple benefits:
